By encouraging your child to join the band program at Bridgeport High School, you will make acommitment to
supporting music education at its finest! The hard work, self discipline and
many diverse experiences encountered will provide a lifetime of great memories for both your child and
you.
The
Bridgeport High School Marching Band is an integral part and a proud
representative of Harrison County and the surrounding communities. The Band is
recognized as one of the finest musical organizations in the state of West
Virginia and has been invited to many prestigious events throughout the eastern
United States .
The Band performs
regularly at Bridgeport High School football games, various parades and band
events locally and throughout West Virginia, where they have repeatedly earned
top honors. In 2009-2010, the Band will perform in a variety of parades and
festivals.
In addition to their local performances,
the Bridgeport Marching Band has appeared and performed at a variety of nat
ional venues including: the Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade in
Louisville, Kentucky, the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Liberty
Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee, the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia, the
Nation's Veteran's Day Parade in New York City, amd most recently Walt Disney
World in the spring of 2008.
